Roulette History:
The roots of the Roulette game can be traced back to the seventeenth century, when a French mathematician came up with an early version of the game. "Roulette" means little wheel in French and in 1842, a roulette game with a single zero on it was created by Francois and Louis Blanc. Gambling was outlawed in France at the time. Therefore, they launched it in Hamburg, Germany. The first man who brought the game to Monte Carlo was Francois while establishing the first casino in Monte Carlo.
Roulette was introduced to the United States in the early nineteenth century. Then, in order to increase the winning odds of the house, a second zero was added. During the 19th century, the roulette became one of the most popular casino games available in Europe and the US.
Today, Roulette is the most popular game in most European Casinos. A Roulette table is often surrounded by wealthy and well-dressed players who enjoy the glamour the game has to offer.
Rules:
Roulette consists of a wheel with 38 numbers. The numbers 1 to 36, and the zeros 0, and 00 (and sometimes 000). The numbers on the wheel alternate in the following way: pairs of odd numbers with pairs of even numbers and also between black and red. The zeros are green in color and are placed at opposite ends of the wheel.
The object is to determine on which number or color the ball will stop.
The players place bets on either a number or a color. There is also the option to bet on group of numbers on the Roulette table by either their numbers or colors.
A "No More Bets" announcement comes when the dealer is about to spin the wheel.
The dealer spins the roulette wheel in one direction, while rolling a ball into the wheel in the opposite direction. The winners determine by the color and the number of the slot on the Roulette wheel where the ball stopped.
The amount of the payoff depends on how the bet was placed. The more numbers a player bet on, the lesser the odds and therefore payouts.
